Mit einem Teleskop, oder durch die lange Belichtung mit einer Kamera entfalten sich die wahren Sch\u00e4tze dieses Gebiets. Der Gro\u00dfen Orionnebel M42 (unten) ist das hellste Objekt auf diesem Bild. Am linke G\u00fcrtelstern Alnitak befinden sich der ber\u00fchmte Pferdekopfnebel (unter dem Stern) und Flammennebel (links \u00fcber dem Stern).
